Land Ahoy!

We are now half way down the East Coast and heading to Hervey Bay tomorrow. Since the last post we've been to Mission Beach, Magnetic Island and Airlie Beach.

Magnetic Island was quiet and very relaxing although we couldn't go for a swim now the Stinger season has approached. We visited the Wildlife park which contained some native animals and allowed us to hold a Croc, blue tongue lizard and a python. The photo attached was taken a second after the croc had just peed all over Nikki which she only just managed to keep hold of! She did redeem herself however by asking the Ranger, while looking at a colony of Fruit Bats, "So what do these fruit bats eat then?"

After Magnetic Island we went on a 2 night sailing trip around the Whitsunday Islands which we both loved. The second photo was taken overlooking Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island. The beach here is amazing. Within a walk to waist-deep water we both had several reef sharks circling us! I went for a swim so I can finally say I went snorkelling with the sharks! Thought I'd never get to see one. The sailing trip was excellent and we'd recommend it to anyone heading this way.

Hi Guys, Sounds like you guys are having an amazing time! The pictures look pretty amazing too so can't wait to see all of them on your return....hopefully you will return back to UK. Anyway, not a great deal been happening around St Albans...Not getting to see much football, although did try to take Nicola a few of times and so far managed one full half and about 10 mins of the first half of the recent england game. Nicola is starting to apply for design jobs in London now so hopefully have a new job sometime around Christmas / New Year. If all goes to plan we might look to move to London somewhere to save on travel. Still playing Call of Duty...we haven't really played the games you lent us! Anyway glad all is ok with you....see you soon. Aaron & Nicky x

Steph - We have booked a flight to Perth and arrive the day before you. We'll probably be booked into a youth hostel. A bit of advice before you come - buy the strongest insect repellent you can find. We are no longer bothered by mosquitoes, its the sand flies and massive horse flies that really p*ss us off!!

Aaron & Nicky - Good to hear from you both. Can sympathise with the football. I've not managed to see anything yet and it's United-Liverpool tonight so I'm off looking for a pub. Good luck with the job hunting!!
