In the Rockies

We are now travelling through the Rockies on a back packers tour bus and having a great time.

While in Jasper we stayed in a lodge in the middle of the woods without any running water and barely any electricity. It was fun but the trips to the outside toilets at night were stressful as there are many bears in the area! Yesterday we walked on a glacier and tomorrow we are off white water rafting.

In addition to the previous blog we have now seen eagles, another Black Bear, Long Horn Sheep, Marmots, Whisky Jack and even a wild Chicken.

The photo that should hopefully attach is of Lake Peyto where we had lunch today.

Back in Vancouver

Have now returned to Vancouver after a few days in Whistler. Whistler is amazing but more importantly we have now seen some wild bears, racoons, chipmunks and starfish!

Have spent the first night in a 'proper' youth hostel and the place stinks of stale piss so we've been drinking in the bar below enough alcohol to not care about the smell.

We've managed to scale the dizzy heights of Whistler Mountain, which is an acheivement considering our fear of heights. Heading off to the Rockies tomorrow.

Day 4 - We have spent the last few days in Vancouver and done all the tourist sites. We LOVE this City and are very impressed. We both crossed the Capilano Suspension bridge which is a huge achievement for me as it was 90m high!! I almost cried! Thanks must go to Jane (Claire's mum) for coming into the park just to make sure we actually crossed it and for looking after us in our first few days. We have spent the last few days living in luxury at their house and only now starting to live the backpackers life.
Anyway, we are now in Whistler and have met up with Rachel who will be showing us the sites tomorrow.
So far we have only embarrassed ourselves once when not being able to get off the Candian buses - someone should have told us they have automatic doors that only open when you are REALLY close!

We will be attaching some photos soon.

One day to go!

Only one more day until we are off on our first stop. Thanks to everyone for the presents and parties - will look forward to the return parties when we get back! I think Nikki must now have the most gadget added i-Pod ever now thanks to both our work people. We wont have a single second where we can't play any music....apart from on the flight maybe.
